CUE BY XEENIA

A subtitle editor that opens in your browser.

Open a subtitle file, read it line by line, fix the words, nudge the timing, and export. Cue edits subtitle files, not video. There is no video-editing timeline and nothing gets burned into anything.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps to a file you can use.

01

Open a file.

Start with the demo sample, or upload your own .srt or .vtt.

02

Click a line.

The caption preview shows the cue text with its timing.

03

Fix words and times.

Edit the text, then adjust the start and end values if a cue needs more room.

04

Export.

SRT, VTT, or TXT. Free, plain text, no watermark.

A CLEAR BOUNDARY

What Cue’s editor is not

Not a video editor. There is no video-editing timeline, no clips, and no video rendering. The cue timeline in the editor shows your subtitles, not video frames.

Not a burn-in tool. You export a text file and pair it with your video elsewhere.

Not a team workspace. Projects are private to your account.

THE DETAILS

Questions worth answering.

Do I need an account?

To upload and keep your own file, yes. The no-signup path is the demo: it loads a sample project you can edit and export, and changes stay in this browser session. An account saves your projects between visits. Editing and exports stay free either way.

Which formats can the editor open?

.srt and .vtt. Not ASS, SSA, SBV, or TTML.

Can I change cue times?

Yes, cue by cue, with millisecond precision on the start and end values.

Can I import SRT and export VTT?

Yes. Open either format and export SRT, VTT, or TXT from the same project.

Will the editor check reading speed?

No. Cue does not calculate reading speed or re-time your cues. It shows you the words and the times, and leaves the judgment with you.

Is there a watermark on the export?

No. Your exported file is plain subtitle text.

Is the editor really free?

Editing, importing a subtitle file without translation, and exporting are free. You only spend credits when you ask Cue to transcribe or translate.
